Dear Parents.

And, so we have begun!  It was so good to see the children and how they have grown.  They really are the life to this building.  Yesterday, we welcomed our new kindergarten class – 25 five year olds  - and later this week our preschoolers will report.  It has been just a little busy and, of course, hot!

WELCOME:  As I am sure your children have reported, we have two additions to the faculty.  Mrs. Faber, who subbed for several weeks two years ago, is back and is teaching primary music and some language arts.  She is taking the third grade while Mrs. Buckley teaches gym

And, new to both the faculty and Pittsburgh is Mrs. Dandurand (Mrs. D), who is teaching upper grade religion and sixth grade language arts.  Mrs. D was raised in the area, but moved to North Carolina several years ago.  She taught religion in a Catholic school in North Carolina and also brings her experience from serving as a Middle School Minister.  The students tell me they already love her classes.

GOLF OUTING:  We are still accepting reservations for our golf outing on Tuesday, September 7.  If you don’t golf, you might consider just joining us for the dinner or sponsoring a hole or a golfer.  The registration form is on the main page of our website.

OPENING MASS:  Students in grades 2 through 8 will walk to the church on Wednesday, September 8 for 9:00 Mass.  Please join us if your schedule permits.

INFORMATION NIGHT:  The PTG is hosting a parent information night on Wednesday, September 15.   This is good opportunity for you to see your child’s textbooks and to hear the teachers’ expectations for the year.   We are very blessed with parents who are committed to providing their children with a solid foundation in faith and in academics and this evening gives you one more avenue to allow us to work together to achieve that goal.  The PTG is sending the details home in the Wednesday envelope.

SEPTEMBER CALENDAR:  There is no school on Monday, September 6, Labor Day.  Also, there is an 11:30 dismissal on Friday, September 24, for a faculty meeting.  On the early dismissal days, there is transportation to school for all districts.   After school, the Bethel Park district does not provide busing home.  All other districts will pick up the students at 11:30.  There is no after school program on the half days.

SOME REMINDERS:

Please return all the paperwork that was sent to you the first day of school.  The diocese or the state requires many of those forms.

Parents who drive are reminded that arrival should be at 8:10 a.m.  Bus students will enter the building as soon as they arrive, but we cannot accommodate a large number of children before the teachers are in the classrooms.

Tuition is due on the 10th of each month.

As always, I am available if you have any questions or concerns.  Please call the office.

God bless,

Mrs. J
